Founded in 1951 by local musician Roy Coran, the Roy Coran Big Band brings the timeless sounds of big band jazz to Thunder Bay. Comprising 18–20 of the region’s finest professional musicians, the band performs concerts, educational programs, and community events, preserving the legacy of Coran and keeping the music of Ellington, Basie, Goodman, and Shaw alive for future generations.
